Within the framework of a joint initiative involving the Province of Teramo, AGENA, the Chamber of Commerce Gran Sasso d’Italia, and the University of Teramo, the conference "Renewable Energy Communities - Energy of the Future" was successfully held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Chamber of Commerce Gran Sasso d'Italia in Teramo. The event represented a significant moment for discussion and in-depth exploration of the new directions in local energy transition.
The conference provided a platform for the presentation of the recently approved implementing decree on Renewable Energy Communities (RECs), offering a clear overview of the technical regulations and opportunities they provide for a sustainable energy future. Prominent national experts, including representatives from GSE, RENAEL, and DINTEC, elucidated new strategies and potential scenarios for an effective and participatory energy transition.
The program included two discussion panels, one dedicated to the public administration and the other to the private sector, aiming to actively engage businesses, professionals, and citizens in the debate on the challenges and opportunities associated with RECs. Thematic focus groups delved into operational, legal, administrative, and fiscal aspects of Renewable Energy Communities, outlining concrete strategies for their implementation and dissemination across the region.
Particular emphasis was placed on the participation of Professional Orders in the Province, including the Order of Architects, the Order of Engineers, the College of Surveyors, and the Order of Industrial Experts of Teramo, which actively contributed to the discussion and sharing of best practices.
A significant moment was represented by the setup of the information corner for the European project DISCOVER, providing further food for thought and networking opportunities for participants.
