30th Anniversary Conference of the Scientific and Technical Union of Energy Experts in Bulgaria

From June 25 to 27, 2025, the Scientific and Technical Union of Energy Experts in Bulgaria celebrated its 30th Anniversary Conference at the International House of Scientists “F. J. Curie” in Varna. The prestigious event gathered a broad spectrum of
stakeholders from across Bulgaria energy sector, including key representatives from the National Electricity Company, Electricity System Operator EAD, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development, the Technical University – Sofia, and other leading institutions and organizations. The conference drew scientists, engineers, and professionals from domestic enterprises and institutions, alongside delegates from prominent international companies and energy organizations across Europe and beyond. Over three days, the conference facilitated in-depth and solution-driven discussions among government entities, private energy companies, academic experts, and consumer representatives. It served as a collaborative platform for identifying current challenges and charting a sustainable future for the energy industry in Bulgaria and the region. A notable highlight was the June 26 presentation by Mrs. Cveta Dimitrova, Chairwoman of IESDI, who introduced the DISCOVER project and the future innovative Bulgarian one- stop-shop service - Real-time technical and economic modelling for CEPs. The presentation drew significant interest, particularly from electricity providers focused on integrating energy communities into the national grid.
